Improving the capabilities of agro-meteorological models for extreme weather events
|OBJECTIVES||The general objective is to improve the prediction of crop and pasture yields as a consequence of extreme weather events. The specific objectives include:
O1.1 Formalize sub-models for changes in crop growth, development and yield in response to extreme temperature and/or plant water status. This objective mainly concerns crops and pastures (Task 1.2) and, only marginally, tree crops (Task 1.3)
O1.2 Provide a characterization of climatic parameters for extreme events (Task 1.1) and empirical corrections to be applied to standard models to cope with extreme events (task 1.4).
|LIST OF DELIVERABLES||D1.1 Report on identification of extreme events, statistical adjustment of simulated yields and modelling tools. This report would collect the results of tasks 1.1 and 1.4 and an advance of results of T1.2 and T1.3 to allow the start of WP2 [month 12]
D1.2 Report on modelling approaches for simulating the impact of extreme events on agricultural production. This report would collect the results of tasks 1.2 and 1.3 [month 24]
