Washington State University (WSU) is the land-grant institution for the State of Washington, USA. Therefore, in addition to the educational (graduate and undergraduate) and research mission common to most research universities in the US, WSU has the specific mission to support the agricultural sector through leading-edge and applied research. WSU has a history of large-scale system analysis in agriculture, currently represented by ~$20M in federal grants in three projects evaluating climate change mitigation by, and impact on, agriculture of the US Pacific Northwest, including water resources and nutrients, and with studies conducted at the field scale, regionally, and by hydrological systems.
