INTA

National Institute of Agricultural Research (INTA) was established in 1956,  and is the major actor of agroeconomic national strategies. INTA aims to improve yields, diversity and quality of agricultural production on a sustainable basis, to increase exportable commodities, to optimize farming economic returns and to better rural life quality. Research and extension strategies are oriented towards generating, adjusting and transferring technology for the development of production systems of all regions of Argentina.  The users of these technologies are farmers, agro-industries, scientific community, and political sector.  At the international level, INTA has cooperation agreements with many countries and international institutes and universities.

During the last 7 years working in two projects on climate change impacts in agricultural systems, the last one was CLARIS LPB. Currently leading activities of growth, yield prediction and forecast of National Network of Agricultural Information (RIAN).

RodriguezGabriel Rodriguez (Agric. Eng.) interests are crop modeling,  agrometeorology,  climate variability and change. In the field of crop simulation has experience with different suites (DSSAT, STICS, APSIM) on calibration and validation of models and their use for impact assessments. It also worked on the adaptation and modification of models for simulation of new species.  Actually coordinates a cooperation project with Uruguay that includes evaluation of extreme weather events and inter-comparison of crop simulation models and evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses.
